WHAT TO EXPECT FROM EVENT ENTERTAINMENT IN 2025

This year, we can expect to see considerable changes in how we view traditional event entertainment.

Traditional entertainment, such as singers, magicians, after-dinner speakers or tribute acts, will continue to keep guests entertained, but we predict 2025 could see a shift in the transition between immersive experiences and reality.

Here are a few of the emerging entertainment trends that we think could have a big impact on corporate and personal events in 2024.

Immersive experiences will become more mainstream

If you’ve witnessed any immersive experiences, you’ll know how much fun they can be. This is where fun and games can be mixed with virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) software to create something truly unique.

We predict that for corporate conferences and events, integrating immersive technologies could transform something “dull or staid” into the must-attend event of the year. The learning potential of showcasing new products or services through VR could have a significant impact on sales and awareness, providing a swift ROI on what could be an expensive outlay.

For galas and other formal gatherings, augmented reality software could transport guests from a “traditional” casino table to the dizzy heights of Las Vegas. Or a Scalextric track could be transformed so guests feel that they are watching the Grand Prix.

Hybrid events could transform corporate conferences

Hybrid events have become a staple in today’s event landscape. With remote work and global teams now the norm, businesses are seeking flexible ways to engage their audiences without relying solely on in-person gatherings. While the initial buzz around hybrid events has settled, they remain a vital solution for organisations looking to balance accessibility, inclusivity, and cost-effectiveness.

Whatever the scenario – whether it’s entirely online or a mix of online and offline capabilities, it’s crucial to think about how you can retain the entertainment factor. You’d be surprised to learn what can be achieved through today’s technology.

Since Covid, many performers have embraced online entertainment, offering everything from pre-recorded videos and virtual performances to interactive live experiences like murder mystery challenges. These innovative entertainment options have become a valuable addition to both online and hybrid events, helping to create an inclusive and engaging atmosphere for all attendees from start to finish.

The potential for AI-generated performances

What do you think about AI-generated performances? Whether it’s an AI speaker, an AI musician or even a virtual host, would it be something that excites you, or is it a complete turn-off?

Advances in AI are remarkable, and we work with leading companies offering AI voice generators that can welcome guests to your event in an incredibly lifelike way. These cutting-edge technologies can even mimic the voices of well-known celebrities with astonishing accuracy, and our trusted studio partners are pushing the boundaries of AI realism to create unforgettable entertainment experiences.

Right now, the ethics surrounding AI performances is very blurry. If someone’s likeness is being used without their knowledge or consent, there are ethical boundaries to consider (which we would always discuss with you during the planning stages). But increasingly, recognisable faces are licencing their faces and voices to AI companies, which means you could legitimately have star power promoting your next event. For example, crisp company Lays worked with Lionel Messi to create an AI tool that delivers personalised messages to users.

We predict that this could quickly become an emergent feature within event conferences and events, with guest hosts or performers tailored to that specific industry or geographical location.

This is a space we’re going to continue to keep an eye on – but if you’ve seen any interesting examples of AI performances within a corporate environment, please let us know! We’d love to know your thoughts on AI and incorporating it into your event.

Sustainability remains a key priority

Sustainability and environmentally friendly practices are so commonplace now that they are no longer seen as a “trend” or even a “nice to have.”

Businesses have a stringent commitment to show that their corporate events are environmentally friendly, and in our experience, weddings and private parties are also primarily focused on environmental choices. The last few years have seen a significant shift, and in our opinion, it is great that making sustainable choices has become the “norm.”

We predict that choices will shift even further this year.

Last year, music giants Coldplay demonstrated what is possible thanks to their Music of the Spheres Tour. From the innovative electricity-generating dancefloor to the sustainable set design and energy-efficient lighting, we think that there is a lot of work that can be replicated on a smaller, lower-budget scale.

Here are a few suggestions of eco-friendly entertainment options that you could consider.

  • Switching traditional fireworks displays for drone light displays – not only is this better for the environment, but much better for animals and wildlife.
  • Multi-purpose entertainers – You may be surprised to know that many of our artists are multi-skilled. Choosing entertainers who can offer different activities (e.g. a magician who can also sing) could allow you to benefit from twice the level of entertainment without adding to your carbon footprint. Keeping your crew as small as possible will be a key part of your sustainable entertainment planning.
  • Keeping entertainment choices local will almost certainly help with your environmental pledges. Minimising any travel time or switching to energy-efficient transportation (such as electric vehicles or train travel) could be crucial if you want to reduce your carbon footprint.

We can’t thank The Entertainment Fixers enough for making our day even more special. The band were amazing! The process of booking a band for our wedding was just so simple. We gave them the date, times and budget and they provided us with a selection to choose from. We then chose one and before we knew it all the contracts were in place and the band was booked. We couldn’t have asked for anymore from them.
